The 2012 titles will be held on the 4th and 5th of February 2012 at the Grange Sailing Club, and is open to everyone provided you’re a current AKSA member. It’s a great way to get involved in one of the fastest growing sports around the world and is aim at being a fun event,no matter what your level of experience and riding ability.

So whether ur just learning to jump or throwing down some huge Kiteloops or S-bends get on down, enter and have some fun at what is going to be great weekend. Just watching the likes of Martyn Bone (the current State champ),Benny Windings (former state champ),and a host of new up-and-coming riders all looking to steal away the coveted crown will be worth the entry fee alone. It should be fantastic to watch.

So bring down all your family and friends for some cool tunes, some muppet style hilarity by our two MC’s and to watch one of the most exciting new sports going around, for what should be an action packed, fun weekend on and off the water.

Kitesurfing North of Bower Rd,Semaphore

It has come to our recent attention that Kitesurfing at Bower Road has been getting extremely congested at times with a lot of kiters ending up on the North side of bower road in the bay (whether by accident or not). SAKSA would like to ask all local kitesurfers to be mindful of the local rules and ensure they do not end up North of Bower rd as the current agreement SAKSA has with the council specifies we do not go North of Bower Road,on the water and off. If these sorts of actions continue to occur it could result in this area and potentially the rest of the Port Adelaide/Enfield council area being black banned for us all. If you see someone consistently doing the wrong thing please approach them politely and let them know of the local rules which have been specified by the local council, not SAKSA.

To avoid ending up downwind of Bower Rd in the bay SAKSA would like to bring it to everyone attention that there are several good spots between Bower Rd and the Chicken Shop which give great beach access. Recreation parade is less than 2 minutes from Bower Rd (the other side of the Caravan park and Surf Life Saving Club) which is practically deserted, has plenty of parking and has better beach access then at Bower Rd (less than half the distance to the beach).

Please keep this in mind next time your kiting in the area and let all your mates know on the beach. Once again stay safe and Happy Kiting.

Any questions please direct them to info@saksa.com.au

Cheers
